Per the terms of enrollment, parents of Museum School students are expected to contribute volunteer hours each academic year. Two-parent households with one child enrolled donate at least 20 hours; two-parent households with more than one child enrolled donate at least 30 hours. Single-parent households donate at least half the hours required for two-parent households.

Like most charter schools, The Museum School depends for its success on parents playing an active role in their children's education. Ours is a school built by the community, for the community, and family involvement is at the heart of our school. We are grateful for the wonderful support shown by Museum School families.
Parents of Museum School students sign an agreement to contribute a minimum number of volunteer hours each year, and many parents contribute countless more hours than the minimum. There are many opportunities to get involved: helping teachers in the classroom, chaperoning learning expeditions, assisting with morning arrival and afternoon dimissal, pitching in to help with lunch hours. In addition, parents may contribute by manning activity booths at our annual Fall Festival or at local community festivals. In addition, The Museum School offers many opportunities for parents to serve on committees and task forces.

Help Spread the Word
The Museum School is looking for volunteers for its Student Recruitment Committee. The committee works to increase awareness of The Museum School throughout the attendance zone and needs assistance telling parents of age-eligible children about the exciting education opportunities here.
Committee members contact churches, daycares, apartment complexes and neighborhood associations within the attendance zone, staff information tables at local events and venues, post school literature at local businesses and contact realtors to communicate information to agents.
