Third graders at The Museum School are excited to share the fruits of their labor during Unit 4 Exhibit Night on Thursday, May 19th.
During this unit, students worked in collaboration with garden buddies at Avondale Elementary as a service project. The students planted romaine and radicchio lettuces, collard greens, kale, Swiss chard, peas, green beans, and more.
The Community Kitchen in the TMS Garden will be open from 7:10 – 7:55. Third grade will be selling salads ($3) and smoothies ($2) from the harvested vegetables. All funds raised from the community kitchen sales will benefit Avondale Elementary and TMS garden programs.
Museum School representatives were featured on Focus Atlanta to discuss the school's uniqueness and goals to increase student diversity during open enrollment. TMS board member and parent Carla C. Smith and parent Tina Younger provided a brief history and shared important information about this year's open enrollment and lottery process.
