Creature Features: Into the Deep
On our expedition to the aquarium this quarter, our third grade explorers went on a scavenger hunt to find adaptations of sea creatures. Check out their photos and findings on behavioral and physical adaptations.
The puffins’ adaptation is that they can swim in water even though they are birds.

Creature Features: Into the Wild
Third grade explorers visited the zoo this quarter. Our third-grade explorers went on a scavenger hunt to track down the secret ‘superpowers’ of land animals. From the thick forests to the dry savannas, check out our photos and findings on the physical and behavioral adaptations that allow these creatures to thrive.
Giraffes use their long necks to reach things. The grabber tool does the same thing for humans.

Creature Features: Adapting to 3rd Grade
Explorers are celebrating and expressing how they have adapted to third grade. This exhibit is meant to highlight all of our amazing learning and growth throughout the year. Students created projects addressing something they are proud of, something they learned, a quality that makes a third grader successful and advice for future third graders.
I adapted to third grade by getting better at teamwork and learning cursive.

Walk the Wild Within
Welcome to the third-grade zoo! After learning about GA’s regions and the animals and plants that call each region home, students applied that learning in a collaborative project in Art! Students chose a GA region to depict in 3d form in a mini “zoo” habitat. Their habitats feature the characteristics of their chosen region as well as some plants that live in that region. Finally, they added a GA animal that calls that region home and highlighted a special adaptation of that animal that helps it survive and thrive in its GA habitat.
