Thank you to the many families who joined us for our Rising 8th Grade Parent Meeting. We had a strong turnout, and we truly appreciate your time, engagement, and thoughtful questions.
During the session, we focused on the end of 7th grade as an important decision point for math acceleration and reviewed the two 8th-grade math pathways, including key differences in content, testing, and level of rigor. We also shared how placement recommendations are developed using multiple data points, along with how student and family voice are included in the process. In addition, we provided an overview of Spanish I expectations, the prefect application process, and shared preliminary information about high school planning and options.
For your reference, we have included the following resources below:
- Slide deck (including embedded resources and links)
- Recording of the meeting
- Compiled Q&A from the chat
We are grateful for your partnership as we support students and families in making thoughtful and informed decisions for their 8th-grade year and beyond.
