Museum School parents, students, and teachers may be familiar with Camp Scene Environmental Adventures from their auction donation and their nature-based summer camp and school break camp programs in Decatur since 2010. Now, they are hoping to bring After-School Camp to TMS for students to explore nature and experience the outdoors.
With a minimum number of enrolled students in grades K-5, a camp bus will pick up TMS students at the end of the school day. The 2-day program (Monday/Wednesday or Tuesday/Thursday) includes one nature hike field trip and one outdoor-themed interest club at their Weekes Street location. The 3-day program adds an outdoor skill field trip on Fridays, such as geocaching, nature photography, disc golf, indoor rock climbing ($20 fee per Stone Summit trip), and several options found here.
On-site clubs include gardening & chickens, nature art & crafts, nature exploration, eco-sports, nature theater, nature yoga, nature woodworking ($75 semester fee), and eco-engineers (for 3rd grade and up).
